German artist Marianne Brandt was the only woman to have worked in the Metallwerkstatt of the Bauhaus. This sugar and creamer set — designed in collaboration with fellow German creative Helmut Schulze — is brought to life by Italian brand Alessi, who have produced the stainless steel duo. Striking and bold the pieces are just two of the many home accessories produced from the Metallwerkstatt project and typify Alessi's custom of producing pieces with historic origins.

The set, consisting of a creamer, sugar bowl, tongs and tray 90042, is part of the Bauhaus Archiv series forming part of the Officina Alessi catalogue. Alberto Alessi decided to include designs created in the studios of the famous German school, not least because of its character as a 'laboratory of applied art', a place where respect for art and the desire to create unusual, beautiful objects determines the style of work - a model to which Alessi's Italian 'Dream Factory' also aspires.
