Founded in 1881 in the village of Iittala, Finland, the company has a rich heritage and a commitment to producing high-quality, functional, and aesthetically pleasing products for everyday use.

Iittala's design philosophy is rooted in the principles of simplicity, functionality, and lasting beauty. The brand believes that good design should be accessible, enhance daily life, and stand the test of time. Their products are characterized by clean lines, minimalistic forms, and a focus on functionality.

Iittala collaborates with both renowned and emerging designers to create its collections. By collaborating with a diverse group of designers, Iittala brings fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a range of design aesthetics to their product lineup. Notable collaborations include Alvar Aalto, Kaj Franck, and Oiva Toikka.

Iittala has created several iconic design classics that have become symbols of Finnish design excellence. The Aalto vase, designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936, is one of the most famous examples. It is characterized by its organic shape, timeless elegance, and the use of glass as a material.
