The idea for the Pizzico salt caster came from the fact that a pinch of salt was always taken with the fingers. With the flexible materials, this technique is kept, but used in a more hygienic way since the salt does not come in direct contact with the fingers.
The shape fits perfectly into the hand and ensures the desired amount of salt is spread uniformly. When the opening is slightly compressed with the fingers, only a small pinch of salt comes out. If left open, larger quantities are released which is especially practical when cooking.
